PLYMOUTH, MA – From her hospital bed, Duxbury, MA mother Lindsay Clancy was arraigned over Zoom on Tuesday, February 7, 2023. Clancy has been charged with 3 counts of murder, 3 counts of strangulation, and 3 counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
It is alleged that on Tuesday, January 24, 2023 Clancy planned and murdered her 3 children, Cora (5 years), Dawson (3 years), and Callan (8 months) before slitting her wrists and neck, and jumping from her 2nd story bedroom window.
Defense has entered a plea of not guilty and no monetary bail was set at this time. Judge John Canavan ordered that Clancy be held in her current hospital for treatment until she is medically cleared to be moved to a new facility. At which time, based on recommendations of her current doctor, she will most likely be moved to a 24/7 rehabilitation facility. She is under order to continue mental health treatment.
In the event that Clancy was to complete her treatment at the rehabilitation facility, the court will hold a hearing to determine the need for further mental health treatment and whether it needs to be inpatient or in a residential setting. Any residential setting would be subject to home confinement, with electronic monitoring. In the event that Clancy is discharged to a residential setting, both the state and defense will be given the opportunity to be further heard.
Clancy’s next schedule court appearance is on May 2, 2023.
